Menbud Fadli Zon Affirms Science And Integrity Become A Way Of National Service At The 2025 UKRI Senate Session

JAKARTA Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of science and dedication to the nation while attending the Open Senate Session of the National University of the Republic of Indonesia (UKRI) at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung, Saturday, August 18. This event was held in the context of inaugurating new students, graduating undergraduates, and commemorating the 2025 Dies Natalis UKRI.

The event, which was also attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, was warm and meaningful. In its capacity as the UKRI Scientific Expert Council, Fadli Zon expressed his appreciation for the moral message conveyed by President Prabowo to the graduates and new students.

In his scientific oration, President Prabowo, who is also the Chairman of the National Education Foundation of the Republic of Indonesia, conveyed a strong message about integrity, honesty, and courage to face the challenges of the times. The title you receive today is not the end, but the beginning of a long journey. We must choose: take the right path even though it is full of challenges, or tempted by shortcuts through lies and corruption," he said.

Prabowo also shared his personal experience of failure and the spirit of never giving up, and conveyed his appreciation to mothers as a source of moral strength and love without limits. "Education is the key to the awakening of the nation," he said in the midst of emotion.

In line with the President, Menbud Fadli Zon emphasized that the advice is an important reminder for the younger generation. What the President has said is very valuable, especially for graduates and graduates to continue to study and serve the nation," he said.

The UKRI Chancellor who is also the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, reported the academic achievements of the campus over the past five years. UKRI recorded the acceptance of 1,142 new students, with 99 percent of whom received scholarships and allowances for pocket money. Campuses also opened new study programs such as Agro-Technology, Agribusiness, Digital Business, and Architectural Masters, which focus on artificial intelligence-based innovations, analytic data, and STEM.

In addition to strengthening the curriculum, UKRI is building an integrated campus with two lecture towers, a rectorate building, a large auditorium, and a research center. "We hope that next year the graduation can be held on campus itself as a symbol of independence," said Dasco.

The event was also attended by a number of high-ranking state officials, including Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Higher Education Stella Christie, as well as national figures such as Raffi Ahmad who were present as Special Envoys for the President for the Development of the Young Generation and Art Workers.

Closing his remarks, Fadli Zon hoped that the UKRI graduates would continue to spread benefits to the nation. "Hopefully the graduates and graduates achieve their ideals with a spirit of service," he said.
