NFL Plays At Wembley, Arteta Meets His Friend Ahead Of Tandang To Fulham

JAKARTA - Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay could increase their friendship to a higher level this weekend.

Their team, both owned by Stan Kroenke, played in the same city. What's more, their respective opponents are Fulham and Jaguars are both owned by Shad Khan.

On Friday, October 17, 2025, local time, Arteta praised his colleagues on Rams. They often exchange WhatsApp messages.

"Sean is someone I really admire, not only because of his achievements, but also because of his attitude as a coach, as a person, and the way he displays himself. I learned a lot from him," Arteta said at a press conference.

The two have been discussing tactics for years, even the Covid-19 protocol in 2020.

Arsenal played a pre-season friendly at the SoFi Stadium--kandang Rams--both last year and in 2023. During last summer's visit, Arteta and McVay ran training clinics for local children.

Arteta is still eyeing the Premier League title as manager. The Gunners won the FA Cup in their first year on duty--2020 and have been runners-up in the league for the past three seasons. They haven't won the Premier League title since 2004.

In February 2022, at the age of 36, McVay became the youngest head coach in NFL history to win the Super Bowl.

Arsenal will travel to London to face Fulham in the Premier League match on Saturday 18 October 2025, WIB night. The Gunners enter the weekend at the top of the standings.

Meanwhile, The Rams and Jaguars traveled slightly further to play at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, October 19, 2025, local time.

"We will be connected. The schedule will be very tight for both teams because we will face the Champions League after Tuesday's game, but it feels good to see them."

"It's great that Stan and Josh (Kroenke) are also here with us. It's a great opportunity to connect everyone," Arteta said of McVay.

Before leaving for the British capital, McVay expressed his admiration for Arteta for reporters.

"One of the things I like about him that we're trying to do is he's very reflective about where he can continue to grow."

"He's not afraid to ask questions so he wants honest feedback from his players about where he can develop for them."

"Big pressure or whatever, it's a privilege, and he accepts it. It's nice to see him moving and how he handles all that," McVay said.
