UN: Gaza Reconstruction Costs Very Much, Needs International Aid

JAKARTA - The United Nations estimates the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip will be enormous, for which it hopes that the international community can unite to provide important support.

"The cost of rebuilding Gaza will be enormous," said spokesman Stephane Dujarric at the UN briefing reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 18.

"The international community must unite and we really hope they will unite for the sake of Palestine," he continued.

The United Nations estimates that around $70 billion (approximately IDR 1.15 quadrillion) will be needed to rebuild the war-torn enclave and ensure its safety.

The call was also conveyed amid ongoing calls to increase access to aid through crossings such as Rafah.
