Denmark Open 2025: Jonathan Qualifies For Semifinals

JAKARTA The men's singles badminton player Jonatan Christie managed to beat fourth seed Li Shi Feng to get a ticket to the semifinals of the Denmark Open 2025.

The sixth seed was forced to fight three games by Chinese representatives which ended with a score of 21-18, 21-23, and 21-17 at Jyske Bank Arena, Denmark, on Friday, October 17, 2025, WIB night.

Jonathan took a long time to feel the semifinals of the BWF Super 750 level tournament. He last reached this stage in that category in January 2025 at the 2025 India Open.

"Praise God, I am grateful to be able to enter the semifinals again, feel the atmosphere of the semifinals of Super 750 again after so long. I played quite well today, but there is still something that needs to be fixed for tomorrow," said Jonathan.

This victory made Jonathan beautify his winning record to 7-1 over Li Shi Feng or third in a row after he lost at the 2023 BWF Tour Finals.

Two wins before everything happened here last year at the Thomas Cup and Asian Championships.

"There has been no change from Li Shi Feng's game after our last meeting last year. He has a very good spirit of never giving up, seen in today's match," said Jonathan.

Jonathan is Indonesia's first representative to the semifinals. The hope of adding tickets is still in the hands of Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat.
