BGN Optimistic Target 82.8 Million MBG Recipients Achieved By The End Of 2025
JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana revealed that the number of beneficiaries of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program has reached 35.6 million people by mid-October 2025.
Although that figure has not reached half of the target of 82.8 million beneficiaries, Dadan remains optimistic that this target can be achieved by the end of the year. He said various strategies were being prepared so that the distribution of MBG was more targeted, even though this program faced challenges in the form of budget adjustments.
"We are chasing 82.9 million, hopefully it will be achieved. But we are optimistic, although it may cost 70 million, it will already exceed the 70 million ceiling," Dadan said in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday, October 16.
According to him, the increase in the number of beneficiaries is directly proportional to the growth of the MBG kitchen or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in various regions. The more SPPGs operate, the greater the absorption of the budget and the reach of the program.
The absorption of the budget in the National Nutrition Agency is identical and correlates positively with the number of beneficiaries. The number of beneficiaries is reflected in the number of units of nutrition fulfillment services formed," he explained.
Dadan added that every single SPPG operating can absorb a budget of around Rp900 million to Rp1 billion per month. With the addition of around 200 new SPPGs per day, budget absorption is estimated to increase to Rp200 billion per month.
"Well, today there are 12,003 SPPGs. So in the next 10 days, now it's IDR 27 trillion, so in the next 10 days our absorption will increase to IDR 6 trillion to IDR 33 trillion," said Dadan.

The total budget allocation of BGN in the Fiscal Year (TA) 2025 reached IDR 171 trillion. However, Dadan said that his party was only able to absorb around IDR 99 trillion to date, while the remaining IDR 70 trillion has been returned to President Prabowo Subianto.
He emphasized that even though there were funds returned, the government remains committed to strengthening the implementation of the MBG program because the benefits are felt by the community, especially school children, pregnant women, and other vulnerable groups.
