TKW Victims Of Fraud From Garut Now In Saudi Arabia Shelter Wait For Repatriation

GARUT - The Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of Garut Regency, West Java stated that a female worker (TKW) victim of employment fraud is currently in a shelter in Saudi Arabia while waiting for the repatriation process to Indonesia.

"Based on coordination with P3MI (Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service), the person concerned is still in a shelter," said Head of the Garut Muksin Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 16,

He said the District Manpower and Transmigration Office received information that a resident of Karangpawitan Subdistrict, Dini Sri Wahyuni, was a victim of fraud in the distribution of workers abroad who were eventually abandoned in Saudi Arabia.

After receiving information, his party traced the truth by asking the family in Garut, then coordinating with the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI) to take steps to handle it.

"It is being coordinated by the Ministry of P2MI to the Indonesian Embassy," said Muksin when asked about the repatriation of the TKW.

He revealed that the initial information gathered by the Garut Manpower and Transmigration Office was confirmed by a TKW from Garut allegedly a victim of fraudulent work distribution in Saudi Arabia, and currently the victim is asking for help to return to Indonesia.

"Still in Saudi Arabia," said Muksin.

Previously, a video circulated of a woman from Garut who reported being abandoned in Saudi Arabia. The victim, Dini Sri Wahyuni, asked the government for help in the repatriation process to Indonesia.

Dini said that at the beginning of the departure, it was promised that the distribution of labor would be placed to work as a janitor.

However, since leaving for June 2025 until now, they have not found a job.

His condition was abandoned and asked for help from the Indonesian government, especially Garut, to return home to gather with his family in Garut.
