Calvin Verdonk Denies Negative Allegations, Affirms Full Appearance For Indonesia
JAKARTA - Calvin Verdonk expressed deep feelings regarding various public comments and reactions about his commitments and colleagues to the Indonesian national team. This was conveyed by the LOSC Lille player through his personal Instagram account.
Quoted on Thursday, October 16, 2025, Verdonk expressed sadness regarding negative comments that doubted the dedication of the players in providing 100 percent of their ability for Indonesia.
"I would like to thank the coach and the entire staff for the trust given to me as a player, as well as for the hard work we have done together as a team."
"Like Jay, I also want to take the time to personally respond to some of the reactions I've seen in the media about Mr. (Erick) Thohir."

Verdonk then emphasized that his experience with the General Chairperson of PSSI, Erick Thohir, and the support team at the federation were very positive.
He considered that management support and staff had formed a world-class high-performance environment that helped players develop optimally.
"What many people may not see is that Erick Thohir and his team have created a world-class high-performance environment that allows us players to develop and perform as well as possible."

Furthermore, Calvin revealed that some of the things he reads on social media often do not reflect the reality he experienced directly within the Indonesian national team.
"Sometimes I read things that are completely different from what I experienced and felt myself."
"What I experienced were dedication, enthusiasm, and a strong impetus to lift Indonesian football to a higher level," he said.
