Zelenskyy Optimistic Meeting With Trump Could Help End War

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv had completed all preparations for his meeting with United States President Donald Trump, which is scheduled to take place on Friday.

Zelenskyy stressed that the agenda of the meeting included aspects of the military and the economy which are expected to help bring the end of the war closer to Russia.

We have prepared everything necessary ahead of the meeting with President Trump both in terms of the military and economics. Every detail is ready. The agenda of our meeting with the President of the United States is very substantial," Zelenskyy said in his evening address quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Thursday, October 16.

He also mentioned the Pioneerized Ukraine Requirements List initiative (PURL/List of Ukraine Priority Requirements) which is being pushed with Ukrainian partners in Central, South and North Europe to jointly procure American weapons.

Zelenskyy thanked the UK for imposing new sanctions on Russia's largest oil company, as well as on Greece for its ongoing support for Ukraine.

According to the president of Ukraine, energy cooperation and resilience strengthening measures also became a topic of discussion in a telephone conversation with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
