Snare PT Loco Montrado Becomes A Corporate Suspect, KPK Reveals Per 1 Kg Of Metal Anode Only Produces 3 Grams Of Gold

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) Tbk is losing money because cooperation with PT Loco Montrado only produces 3 grams of gold from processing metal anodes.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the anode submitted to the private company should produce gold and silver. This allegation was then investigated from four witnesses today, October 16.

The four witnesses examined were Fakhri Reza as a BUMN employee who had served as Tayan Alumina Logistic Senior Officer of PT Antam Tbk since 2021 and was once a Good Metal Storage Service Officer of UBPP LM PT Antam Tbk in 2017 2018; Hardianto Tumpak Manurung as a BUMN employee of PT Antam Tbk who served as a Refining Officer in December 20162018.

Then Helminton Jaharjo Sitanggang as the Head of the Pomalaa Asset Restructuring Program since September 1, 2021 as well as former Senior Vice President of Internal Audit PT Antam Tbk; and Ilham Iskandar Siregar, Business Feasibility Manager of PT Antam Tbk who has also served as UBPP Refining Manager LM PT Antam Tbk.

"So in the processing cooperation mode, every 1 kilo of metal anode processed by PT LCM is exchanged for gold for about 3 grams," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 16.

"In fact, in processing each kilogram, the results should have gold and silver. However, in the processing process carried out by PT LCM, the output has no silver. So only about 3 grams of gold," he continued.

Budi explained that this condition caused the state to lose up to Rp100 billion. Thus, the metal anode processing mode continues to be explored.

"In this examination, investigators are also investigating the roles carried out by PT LCM on an entity or corporate basis," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has named two people as suspects in the case of corruption in the metal anode processing cooperation between PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) Tbk and PT Loco Montrado. They are Siman Bahar and Dodi Marniki (DM) as General Manager of the PT Antam Processing Unit.

Dodi has now been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. Meanwhile, Siman Bahar has not been detained due to his health condition.

The status of the suspect Siman Bahar had died after the South Jakarta Court Judge (PN Jaksel) granted the pretrial lawsuit he filed. However, the KPK again named Siman Bahar as a suspect for the second time.
