Sued For 1 Year In Prison, Jonathan Frizzy Hopes For A Lighter Verdict

TANGERANG - Ahead of the verdict hearing which will be held next week, Jonathan Frizzy (Ijonk) has high hopes that the panel of judges will give a lighter verdict than the demands of the public prosecutor.

Previously, Ijonk was charged with a sentence of one year in prison for the illegal vape ownership case.

His attorney, Ida Bagus Ivan Dharmadipraja, stated that they had submitted a comprehensive memorandum of defense or pledoi, both from the team of lawyers and from Ijonk personally. The main hope is leniency of punishment.

"From yesterday's demands, we have submitted a defense or pledoi. So, Ijonk hopes to get a decision that is often made, rather than what is demanded by the prosecutor," explained Ida Bagus Ivan after the trial at the Tangerang District Court, Wednesday, October 15.

One of the bases for the request for relief is the role of Ijonk in this case which is considered not the main actor.

"We only hope that Ijonk because his role here is also not as the main role, it can be decided which is often," he added.

Previously, Ijonk's team of attorneys, Lamgok Heryanto Silalahi, revealed that the charges were quite surprising for them and their clients.

"Earlier we heard each other, until we came to the demands, yes. Earlier Ijonk was charged with 1 year and subject to Article 435 for health," said Lamgok after the trial at the Tangerang District Court, Wednesday, September 24.

Ijonk's reaction in the courtroom did not escape the attention. According to his lawyer, Ijonk's body gesture showed that he did not expect the demands to last that long, especially considering his role which was considered only to participate.

"But we have seen the same gesture, we are also an advisor to legal expectations, not so far because that is ignorance," added Lamgok.

"Earlier, the demands were conveyed that Ijonk participated, yes, that's it," he continued.
