Mitsubishi Prepares Two New Models In The US, One Of Them Electric Cars

JAKARTA Mitsubishi is ready to strengthen its product ranks in the United States by launching two new models at once in the next two years. Interestingly, one of them is an electric vehicle (EV) which will be an important part of their long-term strategy.

This move is a continuation of the business roadmap titled Momentum 2030, which was first introduced to dealer partners in May last year. After the recent launch of Outlander 2025, Mitsubishi continues to demonstrate its commitment to realizing the ambitious plan.

Mitsubishi Motors North America president and CEO, Inc, Mark Chaffin, said that these two new launches are clear evidence of the power and seriousness of the 2030 Momentum business plan, as well as the result of the hard work of the Mitsubishi team in Japan and dealers across the US.

When we introduced Momentum 2030, we set an ambitious target. Now, the plan has started running with the presence of Outlander 2025, followed by the latest version of Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, the debut of the mild-hybrid powertrain on Outlander 2026, as well as two new models that will launch in the fiscal year 2026. And this is just the beginning," Chaffin said, quoted from Mitsubishi's official website, Wednesday, October 15.

After previously announcing the planned launch of the BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) in May, Mitsubishi has now confirmed that the second model to be present is an off-road focused vehicle, reinforcing the long legacy of this brand in the world of adventure and extreme trajectory.

Mitsubishi Motors North America has also recently presented a Trail Edition package on Outlander. The new upcoming model is said to be adopting a typical style of the package, but with significant improvements such as off-road special bodywork, new driving modes, improved performance, and a stronger and more exclusive interior touch.

Chaffin added that it is now the best time for consumers to consider Mitsubishi vehicles. With the support of nearly 330 authorized dealers across the US, Mitsubishi is committed to presenting quality vehicles, competitive prices, and a satisfactory customer experience.

The momentum 2030 will expand our reach with more dealers in more markets. In fact, a number of large US dealer groups have shown interest in joining this journey," he concluded.
