MCCI Strengthens Governance Through Anti-Bribery And Gratification Policies
JAKARTA - PT Merak Chemicals Indonesia (MCCI) continues to strengthen its commitment to clean and transparent corporate governance through the implementation of the ISO 37001:2016-based Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP). This step is part of the integral of MCCI's sustainability strategy in strengthening the Government aspect in the company's ESG (environmental, social, and governance) report.
MCCI President Director Anang Adji Sunoto ensured that his party already has internal procedures and policies that regulate the prevention of bribery practices, as stated in the company's compliance system. This is to ensure that the company's governance is clean and transparent by implementing internal policies related to anti-purification and gratification control.
"We already have Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and policies that include a ban on gratification and anti-preparatory principles. We will continue to improve on the procedures we have in accordance with the implementation of ISO 37001:2016," he said in an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 15.
Furthermore, Anang explained that strengthening this internal policy was MCCI's first step to gradually adapt to the ISO 37001:2016-based SMAP standard. This effort is part of the company's commitment to strengthening governance with integrity and fostering a culture of compliance in all organizational lines.
He emphasized that sustainability is not only measured by environmental or social performance, but also from how strong governance is carried out with full integrity. Therefore, MCCI's anti-preparatory policies and gratuities are an important part of creating an ethical and responsible work culture.
As a tangible manifestation of strengthening governance, MCCI has also issued a Compliance Book that serves as a guideline for ethical behavior and compliance guidance for all employees. Through this document, the company emphasizes the importance of maintaining integrity in every business activity and interaction with third parties.
"This step helps us build a work environment that is transparent and with high integrity, as well as strengthen the trust of customers, partners, and stakeholders in MCCI's commitment to running a clean business," Anang added.

In addition, MCCI routinely conducts internal socialization and training to increase employee understanding of the risk of bribery and the importance of early reporting if indications of business ethical violations are found.
Through this approach, MCCI affirms its commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and responsive governance in the chemical industry, in line with the spirit of Respondible Care held by the company in carrying out sustainability practices.
"With a standard and measurable system, we want to ensure there is no tolerance for corrupt and bribery practices in any form," said Anang.
