Police Urge The Public Not To Spread Photos And Videos Of Murder Victims In Cilincing On Social Media

JAKARTA - In the aftermath of the viral video of the murder incident carried out by MR (16) against a underage girl in the Cilincing area, the North Jakarta Metro Police appealed to the public not to spread the identity or photos of victims on social media.

"This is to protect family privacy. The police urge the public not to spread it on social media," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Erick Frendriz, Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The police chief said that child security is a shared responsibility. If the public finds out that there have been acts of violence that threaten child safety, the police appeal to immediately report it to the nearest police post or Bhabinkamtibmas.

"Let's take care of our children, because they are the next generation of the nation," he said.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator with the initials MR is still undergoing intensive examination at the PPA (Women and Children Protection) Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police.

"This case is a serious concern because it involves minors, both victims and perpetrators. We will follow up in accordance with applicable legal procedures," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a girl who was still in elementary school (SD) was found murdered by a 17-year-old teenage boy in the perpetrator's room in the Cilincing area, North Jakarta.

"So the incident started yesterday, Monday, October 13, 2025, at around half past 7 pm. Initially, the victim passed in front of the perpetrator's house, then called by the perpetrator," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Onkoseno Gradiarso Sukahar, Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

The perpetrator then lured the victim if he was going to buy the victim clothes. Then the perpetrator pretended to take the money in his room. The perpetrator then took the victim into his room.

"The perpetrator lured the victim, so the victim was invited to the perpetrator's room. It was in the perpetrator's room that the victim was carried out by violence so that the victim died," he said.

Apart from being killed by the perpetrator, the victim was also abused by the perpetrator in his room. After committing the acts of physical and sexual violence, the perpetrator was later arrested by the police.
