Royaltrans Bus Hangus On Cawang Toll Road, Transjakarta Conducts Investigation

JAKARTA - One Royaltrans bus unit caught fire on the inner-city toll road kilometer 11 towards Cawang, precisely in the Kelapa Gading Barat area, North Jakarta. The bus caught fire on Tuesday, October 14 at 23.10 WIB.

PT Transjakarta apologized for the incident of the burning of the bus with the TJ 545 code. Transjakarta ensures that no victims are affected because the bus is no longer serving passengers.

"In this incident there were no casualties or injuries, the bus is in a condition of completion of service and will return to the depot," said Head of the Public Relations Department and CSR Transjakarta Ayu Wardhani in a statement, Wednesday, October 15.

Currently, Transjakarta has coordinated with the police to conduct an in-depth investigation into the exact cause of the incident.

"We will immediately implement comprehensive corrective and preventive measures, including a thorough evaluation of the entire fleet. We are determined to ensure that Royaltrans services remain safe and reliable. We will convey the progress of the investigation transparently," he said.

When the bus caught fire, the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) deployed 3 fire engines with 15 personnel to extinguish the fire.

The fire was finally extinguished less than an hour later, with the time of the blackout operation at 23.59 WIB.

The fire is thought to be an ignition on the engine. When the fire started to emerge, the Royaltrans driver tried to extinguish the fire using a light fire extinguisher (APAR) available on the bus.

Unfortunately, the fire is getting bigger, so APAR cannot control it. Then the toll road contacted the fire department to ask for help in extinguishing the fire.
