Kaspersky Survey: 73% Users Trust AI To Create Travel Plans

JAKARTA - The Kaspersky market research center has found what encourages active AI users to entrust AI-powered chatbots and devices in travel planning.

A survey involving 3,000 respondents from 15 countries, including Indonesia, revealed that 73% of respondents stated that their main motivation for switching to AI in travel planning was to save time and simplify preparations.

In addition, 65% of respondents admitted that AI was useful for assisting in finding information about major tourist attractions in selected locations and personalized recommendations according to individual preferences.

Then, 63% used AI to find the best deal, while 61% trusted it to reveal the hard-to-find information.

Interestingly, older generation (55+) exhibits slightly different patterns, where they lack focus on personalized offerings (60%) but rather rely on AI to find suggestions/recommendations (65%).

Meanwhile, child-owned people are showing a higher interest in personalized recommendations (68%) compared to those without children (60%).

In fact, Kaspersky stated that currently with the help of AI, individual travel plans that match tourist demand can be made in just a few clicks.

However, the information provided by the chatbot still needs to be re-examined. What's more, not only the information, but even the link provided by AI needs to be checked.

"Relative attitude is very important for all types of online interactions, especially in terms of sharing personal data," said Vladislav Tilov, Group Manager at the Kaspersky AI Technology Research Center.
