Ministry Of Transportation Checks Readiness Of Type A Giwangan Terminal To Welcome Christmas And New Year's Transportation 2026
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation (Ditjen Hubdat) has prepared a Type A Giwangan Terminal service, Yogyakarta, in welcoming the implementation of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 transportation.
The Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, said that this check was carried out to ensure the readiness of facilities at the Type A Giwangan terminal, Yogyakarta.
"We are here to check services at Type A Giwangan Terminal such as waiting room facilities, passenger ups and downs, worship facilities, toilets, to MSME areas," said Aan in an official statement, Tuesday, October 14.
In terms of facilities, said Aan, his party also conducts safety inspections or rampchecks on the buses at the terminal before transporting passengers.
Based on the checks, continued Aan, all buses were declared to meet technical requirements and roadworthy.
"We appreciate bus entrepreneurs or bus operators who have maintained their fleets well. The buses that operate have been checked and are roadworthy," he said.
Aan also reminded all bus operators not only to check the condition of the vehicle, but also to ensure that bus drivers are in good health and get enough sleep.
In addition, Aan also mentioned the importance of providing backup drivers, especially during long holidays, in order to keep the driver in good condition.
"Terminal Type A Giwangan is expected to become a transportation node that provides the best service and prioritizes safety aspects for visitors who will vacation in Yogyakarta," he said.

For information, the Giwangan Terminal is the largest type A terminal in Indonesia, which is a bus stop from all major cities in Sumatra, Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara.
As for September 2025, production data showed that more than 1.7 million passengers had been served at the Type A Giwangan Terminal, both AKAP, AKDP, and urban transportation buses.
Meanwhile, the average data per month of AKAP bus arrivals were 11,992 and AKAP bus departures were 11,867. The average per month of arrival of AKDP buses served was 1,128 and AKDP bus departures were 1,126. Meanwhile, the average per month of urban transportation arrivals was 8,178 and departures were 8,029.
