Israel Identifys 4 Hostage Bodies Returned By Hamas, One Of Them Nepalese

JAKARTA - The Israeli military said on Tuesday, October 14 that the bodies of four hostages returned by Hamas had been identified, including a Nepalese student.

In a statement quoted from AFP, the Israeli military said the two hostages were Guy Iluz, an Israeli national, and Bipin Joshi, an agricultural student from Nepal.

While the names of the other two hostages have not been released at the request of their families.

The Israeli military claims a hostage named Iluz, 26, was attending Nova's music festival when Hamas militants launched an attack on October 7, 2023.

He reportedly tried to escape from the scene with a sickle and then hid in a tree where he had his last contact with his parents before being arrested and taken to the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said Iluz was injured and kidnapped alive by militants but later died of his injuries as a result of a lack of medical treatment while handling him.

It was not stated when he really died, although his death was announced in December 2023.

While Joshi, 22, during the attack, was part of Nepal's agricultural training group that arrived in Israel three weeks before the Hamas attack.

He was kidnapped from Kibbutz Alumim and photographed taking shelter with other workers shortly before militants reached the area.
