There Is Still A Chance, Kapolda Papua: KKB, Go Back To Mother Earth

PAPUA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri admits that he still provides opportunities for members of the armed criminal group (KKB) who wish to surrender or return to the bosom of their motherland.

However, if they do not take advantage of this opportunity and are still committing criminal acts, they will be confronted by security forces.

"The opportunity to return to the Republic of Indonesia is still open," said the Kapolda.

Kapolda hopes that the opportunity to return to the motherland's bosom will be utilized as best as possible by the KKB.

He said that the security apparatus is currently enforcing the law against groups that have been harassing civilians and security forces.

Law enforcement is carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) so that it is measurable and for residents who are secured but are not included in the people's livelihood list (DPO) will be returned to their families.

This has happened when security forces raided the honai or traditional house in the mountainous area of Papua Numbuk Telenggen in Ninggabuma village, Gome District, Puncak Regency, last Saturday, May 15.

Three civilians, said Fakhiri, were secured. After being examined by the investigators, the three of them were sent back to their families because they were not directly involved with the KKB.

"We are doing our best to enforce the law according to the SOP," said the Kapolda.
