Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono revealed that the draft Presidential Instruction (Inpres) related to the acceleration of the construction of warehouses and outlets from the Red and White Village Cooperatives throughout Indonesia has entered the finalization stage.

"We must immediately go to the field to make an inventory of the village lands that will be built warehouses and outlets by PT Agrinas and the TNI," Ferry said in a statement to the media, Monday, October 13.

Ferry also ensured that the construction of warehouses and outlets belonging to the Red and White Kopdes also involved local contractors and involved the village community.

"Essentially, the focus of the Presidential Instruction in the future is to accelerate the construction of warehouses and outlets of the Red and White Kopdes," he said.

Ferry added that the Presidential Instruction is an effort by the government to accelerate economic equity and strengthen the food supply chain, as well as the distribution of local products, through strengthening the strategic role of the Red and White Kopdes.

"This policy is also a concrete step in realizing the second Asta Cita, namely the independence of the nation through sustainable food self-sufficiency, and the sixth Asta Cita, namely development from villages for equitable national economy," said the Coordinating Minister.

With more than 80,000 cooperatives that have been formed throughout Indonesia, the Coordinating Minister hopes that the acceleration of the construction of outlets, warehouses, and supporting facilities for cooperatives is expected to be carried out strategically, integrated, and coordinated between ministries, institutions, and local governments.

"The goal is to create a productive and competitive village economic system," said Ferry.
