Stellantis Strategic Plan Postponed Until 2026, What's Up?

JAKARTA - giant car manufacturer Stellantis announced an unexpected move that immediately sparked a reaction in the stock market. The company decided to postpone the launch of its latest strategic plan.

Stellantis, which oversees well-known brands such as Jeep, Fiat, Maserati, and Peugeot, is now scheduling the launch of its latest strategic plan in the second quarter of 2026. This is a significant delay from the previously estimated schedule.

According to a Reuters report, quoted Tuesday, October 14, the delay aims to give the company a longer time than initial expectations to new CEO Antonio Filosa to prepare the company's capital market day.

In a transcript of the call held by Head of Global Investor Relations Stellantis, Ed Ditmire, with analysts, it was revealed that this delay was also to include better calculations of critical factors affecting the industry.

"These factors include major issues such as the United States tariff and the strong involvement of our industry with policymakers in Europe," the Ditmire said.

He added that the company would soon make a final decision on the exact time and announce it as soon as possible.

In response to this situation, the Barclays investment bank said Monday that investors' growing interest in Stellantis was driven by recent positive elements such as the US market share in September and strong order momentum.

However, Barclays also voiced caution. They think it's too early to fully invest given the limited visibility of adjusted operating profit and free cash flow, especially as the new management team is making changes to the direction or focus of a very fundamental and important business.
