How To Manage Stress Of Romance Without Professional Assistance
JAKARTA - Stress of a romantic relationship that can occur in every couple. This stress can arise due to changes in life, technology, to personal goals.
Quoted from Healthshots, on Monday, October 13, 2025, this stress can cause tired feelings, distance, and lack of interest in each other. If this is not addressed properly, it can result in the end of the relationship.
Psychotherapyist and life coach, Dr. Chandni Tugnait, said that there are several ways to manage stress in a romantic relationship without having to ask for help from professionals, as follows.
1. Definition of rest together
To manage the stress felt in relationships, your partner must prioritize rest together. This does not mean just watching events in silence while browsing social media.
"On the other hand, try setting (rest) together, which means finding ways to calm each other's nervous system," said Tugnait.
Such as giving calm times, breathing exercises, to doing outdoor activities that are close to nature and free of disturbances.
Slow and synchromous breathing exercises to help adapt to each other's emotional state, he added.
2. Schedule emotional synchronization
Dating is a good way to get away from your routine. However, dating should not replace emotional checks that help maintain intimacy.
"Clean only 15 minutes every week to connect to emotional levels," he said.
3. Maintain the third space
Each relationship has three important spaces, namely yours, mine, and ours. Our space is a space where we build a strong connection for each partner.
"This joint room can be influenced by external factors, such as work stress and too much time on the device," he continued.
