Medical Training Encourages Competency Of Biomedical Workers In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Training and competence development of medical personnel are the keys in providing quality health services. GE HealthCare together with the Indonesian Electronics Association (IKETMI) again strengthens their strategic collaboration through the Exclusive Workshop at the Ministry of Health Hospital in Surabaya.
This activity is a continuation of PET Training of Trainers (ToT) and SPECT CT which has been held since December 2024, with the aim of strengthening the ability of biomedical personnel in managing medical imaging technology, especially to support the handling of cancer as one of the national priorities.
Acting President Director of the Surabaya Ministry of Health Hospital, Dr. Martha Muliana Lumogom Siahaan, SH, MARS, M.Kes, positively welcomed this initiative as a strategic step in making hospitals a center for education development and health innovation in Indonesia.
"The Surabaya Ministry of Health Hospital is honored to be working with GE HealthCare and IKATEMI in increasing education and innovation in the field of cancer treatment. As the largest vertical hospital in East Java, we are committed to becoming a center of excellence that integrates clinical services, education, and research," he said.

Dr. Martha also emphasized that this training program supports the transformation of health services and shows how cross-sectoral partnerships between the public and the private sector can improve the competence of medical and technical personnel, so that hospital services are increasingly patient-oriented.
Chairman of the IKATEMI DPP, Agus Komarudin, ST, MT, highlighted the importance of this collaboration to strengthen the education and technical capacity of biomedical personnel in order to be able to operate and care for imaging technology independently.
This not only guarantees diagnostic accuracy, but also encourages competency uniformity throughout Indonesia.
CEO of GE HealthCare Indonesia, Kriswanto Trimoeljo (Dadi), said that this program shows the commitment of GE HealthCare in presenting Precision Care solutions through imaging technology such as CT, MRI, PET, and SPECT, which supports wider diagnostic access and a better patient experience.
"The knowledge transfer is not only part of technical training, but also efforts to build national health system independence and resilience. We want to ensure that every innovation can be utilized optimally by local talents so that it has a real impact on patient care," he said.
Through a digital-based approach, GE HealthCare continues to encourage the transformation of Indonesia's inclusive, modern, and sustainable health care ecosystem.
