Deputy Minister Of Public Works: Labor Intensive Program Continues In 2026

Deputy Minister of Public Works (Wamen PU) Diana Kusumastuti said labor-intensive programs will continue in 2026 because they involve the community.

"For labor-intensive purposes, this year it will continue. Next year, God willing, it will continue," Diana said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 13.

According to him, labor-intensive programs are programs that involve the community and have a direct impact on people in the regions.

"Because it is an important activity, in my opinion, by involving the community and that later it can reach the people in the regions," he said.

For information, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) through the Directorate General of Water Resources continues to implement the Irrigation Water Administration Improvement Acceleration Program (P3TGAI) as part of a cash-intensive program.

For 2026, the Ministry of Public Works has prepared a plan to expand P3TGAI to 12,000 locations.

In addition to the P3TGAI Program, the cash-intensive program at the Ministry of Public Works also includes the provision of Drinking Water and Community-Based Sanitation (PAMSIMAS), Community-Based Sanitation (SANIMAS), to the Development of Regional Socio-Economic Infrastructure (PISEW) next year.

For the PISEW Program which is located at 600 locations and requires 13,200 workers, the SANIMAS program is located in 1,000 locations with a workforce of 14,000 workers The PAMSIMAS Program is located in 470 locations as many as 7,050 workers.

The Ministry of Public Works is also intensifying the implementation of labor-intensive programs in the field of roads and bridges in 2025 in order to realize President Prabowo Subianto's Astcita.

Pada TA 2025, Kementerian PU mengalokasikan anggaran sebesar Rp1,2 triliun untuk pekerjaan padat karya bidang jalan dan jembatan yang tersebar di 1.059 lokasi.

Menteri PU Dody Hanggodo mengatakan program padat karya merupakan strategi pembangunan yang tidak hanya menghasilkan output fisik, tetapi juga memberikan dampak langsung terhadap ekonomi lokal dan menciptakan lapangan kerja.

Program ini adalah instrumen yang penting untuk memastikan manfaat pembangunan dapat dirasakan secara merata di seluruh lapisan masyarakat.

Pada TA 2025, Kementerian PU mengalokasikan anggaran sebesar Rp1,2 triliun untuk pekerjaan dasar karya bidang jalan dan jembatan yang tersebar di 1059 lokasi.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the labor-intensive program was a development strategy that not only produced physical output, but also had a direct impact on the local economy and created jobs.

This program is an important instrument to ensure the benefits of development can be felt evenly in all levels of society.
