Even Though It's More Summary, Joyland Sessions Still Brings The Same Spirit As The Joyland Festival
JAKARTA - After the absence of the Joyland Festival, Plainsong Live as the promoter presented the Joyland Sessions as an bidder for longing on a more compact scale.
The first edition of the Joyland Sessions will be held for two days at GBK City Park, Central Jakarta on November 29 and 30.
A series of names from the global and national music scene have been confirmed to be included in the line-up ranks. Two names were also lined up as headliners, namely the indie pop group from San Diego, TV Girl and the band nu-dasco from Paris, L'Impratrice.
Ferry Dermawan as the Program Director of Plainsong Live explained that this program was born as a solution to treat public disappointment at the postponement of the Joyland Festival. Joyland Sessions has the same spirit, but it is different in terms of implementation and scale.
"Jo Yunya Sessions is not the same as the Joyland Festival. The scale is very different and it will not be fair to treat her as the same program. That's why we returned the Joyland Festival ticket buyer's money," Ferry said in his statement, Monday, October 13.
"Jo Yunya Sessions is a new thing that we initiated after the refund process, so that this year it doesn't pass without sharing Joyland debris with you," he continued.
As for the first day of the event, L'Impreratrice will be accompanied by Bright Eyes, an American indie rock group led by Conor totaling; The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, an indie pop group from New York that will be reactivated by Kip Berman and will perform in Jakarta again after 2012; as well as a row of local musicians who enrich the current Indonesian music landscape: Bernadya, Jirapah, Galdive, and The Cottons.
Meanwhile, on the second day of the event, TV Girl will share the stage with the singers of the United States song, Sophia Regina totaling alias Soccer total; Canadian electronic music artist Luna Li; rapper and American producer, Oddisee with the band accompaniment Good Compny; plus three Indonesian groups that often meet the world, namely Ali, Reality Club, and Thee Marloes.

The scale difference makes the Joyland Sessions only last two days (not three days) and the entire music show will be on one stage (not three stages).
In addition, the typical Joyland Festival programs were abolished, except for the White Peacock area for family activities as well as food and beverage stalls.
Although more compact, Plainsong Live guarantees that the Joyland Sessions will not sacrifice the high quality that has been their hallmark.
"Although the Joyland Sessions scale is smaller, the ticket price is comparable to the Joyland Festival because it will still feature international artists, complete production quality, and the attention we put into every Joyland event," Ferry said.
He added, "The ticket price reflects the reality of allowing it all to materialize in a more focused format."
Joyland Sessions daily tickets can be purchased, with prices ranging from Rp618,000 (early entry) and Rp738,000 (regular entry). Meanwhile, the two-day channel ticket is priced at Rp1,088,000.
It should be noted that all these prices do not include taxes. Further information and ticket purchases can be accessed through the joylandfest.com page.
