Sinaboi Becomes The Most Point Of Malaria Cases In Riau, The Health Office Takes Quick Action
PEKANBARU - Riau Province Health Office (Dinkes) handled as many as 1,000 malaria cases in Rokan Hilir Regency by conducting health counseling and distributing nets to affected communities.
Acting Head of the Riau Health Office, Widodo, said the handling was focused on the Sinaboi District, which is the area with the most cases in Rokan Hilir this year.
We are doing this activity because the area is a malaria receptive area or an area with a high risk of transmission. We provide assistance withvoids, conduct indoor residual surveys, mass blood surveys, and monitoring of mosquito larvae, "said Widodo in Pekanbaru, Antara, Monday, October 13.
According to him, the activity was carried out with a team of experts from the Batam City Community Health Laboratory, Riau Islands Province, through counseling in schools and local residents' houses.
Widodo said malaria cases in Sinaboi District were the highest in Rokan Hilir with a total of more than 1,000 cases, surpassing Pasir Limau Kapas District which found around 500 cases.
"High population mobility requires integrated cross-program and sector actions so that the spread of malaria can be controlled immediately," he said.
Although the number of cases is quite large, Widodo ensures that there have been no reports of casualties. This condition is thanks to the quick handling carried out by health workers from the assistant Puskesmas level to the hospital.
