Copilot Now Can Create Documents And Connect To Gmail
JAKARTA Microsoft launched an update for Copilot, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based chatbot application. The AI model can now make documents directly from chat sessions.
Users can request Copilot on Windows to create various types of documents, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF via chat interfaces. Documents created cannot be edited, but users do not require additional steps.
"With just one command, you can immediately change ideas, notes, and data into documents that can be shared and edited without any additional steps or tools," said Microsoft's Copilot team, quoted on Monday, October 13.
For longer text responses, namely 600 characters or more, Copilot now includes a built-in export button. This feature allows users to send Copilot-generated text directly to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or exported as PDF.
The next feature is the ability to link Copilot with personal online accounts. Users can connect AI assistants to their Outlook or Gmail accounts. This connection allows Copilot to access and display content from email.

Once connected, users can give a specific command to Copilot, for example searching for all invoices from certain companies in their email inbox. They can also ask Copilot to display certain contact email addresses quickly.
This account linkage feature is optional and must be enabled through the app connector. Apart from Gmail and Outlook, users can also link OneDrive, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Google Contact accounts.
This upgrade was launched for all Windows Insiders. Microsoft Will be rolling out widely in the future. For now, Microsoft is still testing Copilot's new capabilities.
