Jakarta Residents Can Now Talk Through JakCare
JAKARTA - Jakarta residents who feel anxious and constantly or face psychological problems can devote their hearts by accessing the "Jakarta Counseling and Assistance for Resilience and Empowerment" (JakCare) counseling service.
"We can access JakCare temporarily to relieve it. Take a break first," said Acting Head of Public Health, DKI Jakarta Health Office, Sri Puji Wahyuni, quoted by Antara, Saturday, October 11.
JakCare can be accessed through the JAKI application (Jakarta Kini) or contact 0800-1500-119 without consultation fees. Referring to data from the DKI Jakarta Health Office, this service has been accessed by 1,279 callers from May 2025 to October 7, 2025.
The JakCare call number (call center) is handled by professionals who work alternately in three shifts every day.
Puji said, JakCare is an alternative for residents who have not had time to visit Puskesmas or Posyandu with mental health services. As for March 2025, 28 of the 44 District Health Centers in Jakarta already have consulting services with psychologists.
These services are part of promotive and preventive efforts, namely to detect or recognize and if necessary, they will be followed up with health facilities (faskes).
"We will screen all the complaints with mentality. We will find emotional mental disorders. Only from there we will explore them again, later referred to health facilities, what type (mental health disorders) is being investigated again," said Puji.
JakCare services are designed to deal with emergency cases, including indications of suicide. As of May 2025, JakCare has rescued two people who intend to commit suicide.
The complaints that are usually found include anxiety disorders, panic disorders and depression.
After the user contacted the service, an initial assessment was carried out using the "JakCare Screening" (JCS) instrument.
The JCS follow-up is determined based on four color criteria, namely green color, which is a 'Mental Healthy' case that can be handled by carrying out psychoeducation.
Mental health checks are carried out regularly independently using the SRQ 29 (Self Reporting Questions) instrument on the e-Jiwa application with a period of every 3 months to 1 year.
