BMKG Forecasts The Weather Of A Number Of Big Cities In Indonesia Rain Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most parts of Indonesia will experience rain with varying intensity on Saturday, ranging from light rain to rain accompanied by lightning.

BMKG forecaster Satriana Roguna, in the daily weather forecast video monitored through the BMKG YouTube channel on Saturday, October 11, said that light rain is predicted to occur in a number of major cities on the island of Sumatra, namely Banda Aceh, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, and Pangkal Pinang.

"Meanwhile, moderate rain has the potential to occur in Medan, North Sumatra," said Satriana, quoted by Antara.

In addition, the Palembang and Bandar Lampung areas are forecasted to be thick cloudy, while Pekanbaru is expected to be cloudy.

For Java, cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Jakarta and Yogyakarta, while Semarang and Surabaya are expected to be thick cloudy. Light rain has the potential to flush Serang and Bandung.

Similar conditions are also predicted in the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, where Denpasar, Mataram, and Kupang have the opportunity to experience light rain.

On the island of Kalimantan, light rain is predicted to fall in Palangkaraya, while Samarinda and Pontianak are thick cloudy. BMKG also warned of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in Tanjung Selor and Banjarmasin.

For Sulawesi Island, thick cloudy weather is expected to occur in Kendari. Meanwhile, light rain has the potential to flush Mamuju, Makassar, Palu, Gorontalo, and Manado.

The eastern region of Indonesia is predicted to experience light rain in Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya. Moderate rain has the potential to occur in Nabire and Merauke.
