Philippine Earthquake Death Toll Becomes 2 People, 250 Hospital Patients Evacuated To Emergency Tents
JAKARTA - The death toll from the 7.4 magnitude (M) earthquake that hit Mindanao, Philippines, was reported by two people.
Quoting ABC.net.au, the Governor of Nelson Province in the Philippines, Dayanghirang Sr. said two victims were found in the rubble of an earthquake-affected building in Davao Oriental.
At least 250 patients were evacuated from the damaged hospital. They were then temporarily accommodated in emergency tents.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter was 20 kilometers from Manay City at 09.43 local time on Friday, October 10.
As a result of this earthquake, many buildings were affected, including the international airport in Davao City which had cracks on the walls. However, none of the flights at the airport were canceled.
