Senate Approves US Military Budget By 2026 Of 925 Billion Dollars, For Ukrainian Assistance 500 Million

JAKARTA - The United States Senate (US) approved a US military budget for the 2026 fiscal year of $925 billion, including $500 million in aid to Ukraine.

Citing Tass, Friday, October 10, this budget was approved by the US Senate based on the bill submission passed after being supported by 77 votes, and 20 votes refused, in voting. A maximum of 60 votes are needed for approval.

Based on data from the US Senate Armed Forces Committee, the bill was approved to automatically extend Ukraine's Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) until 2028 and expand the program's funding to $500 million.

USAI is known to allow the Pentagon to sign a contract with manufacturers instead of providing equipment and direct resources from US arsenals to Ukraine.

A special commission consisting of representatives from the two congressmen will complete the US military budget bill document for the 2026 fiscal year. After that, the document will be submitted to US President Donald Trump for signature.
