The Rejection Of Israel Will Not Disturb The 2025 Gymnastics World Championship

JAKARTA The cancellation of the participation of the Israeli contingent will not interfere with the preparations for the 2025 53rd World Artistic Gymnastics Championships or the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.

This important event is scheduled to take place on 19-25 October 2025 at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta. This is the first time Indonesia has hosted the tournament.

Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Gymnastics Association (PB Persani), Ita Yuliati, ensured that this prestigious single event event would continue to be carried out according to the existing schedule.

"It is impossible to cancel because starting October 13, 2025, the delegation of participants has started to arrive. So far the preparations have been 96 percent, so it is impossible to postpone it," said Ita in Jakarta.

Israel has certainly not participated in this important event after the Indonesian government decided to refuse visas for their athletes.

This attitude was taken because so far Indonesia and Israel have not had diplomatic relations. This is also a form of support for Palestine and criticism of Israel's genocide in Gaza.

Ita further said that this Artistic Gymnastics World Championship is one of the milestones in Indonesia's game development journey. He also hopes that this event will run smoothly.

"Indonesia currently does not really understand what gameastics are, what gameastic artisticity is. So, we are trying in such a way to socialize game artisticity. This is a big challenge," he said.

This is not the first time Israeli athletes have been refused to enter Indonesia. Previously, they also did not allow them to enter the 2023 U-20 World Cup so that the event was canceled here.

So far, a total of 79 countries have registered to participate in the 53rd World Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2025.
