Unbounded Collaboration: Prasmul Expands Access To Global Learning For STEM Students

JAKARTA - The current university can no longer stand alone if it wants to produce graduates who are ready to face global challenges. Cooperating with international universities is a strategic step to strengthen academic networks, research, as well as open access to new expertise and perspectives. This initiative not only increases graduates' competitiveness in the global work market, but also provides them with increasingly important cross-cultural understanding in the era of world relations.

Technological advances allow students to experience learning at foreign campuses without having to leave their homeland. Through digital platforms, lecture processes, discussions, and research collaborations, it can be done online with quality equivalent to face-to-face learning.

This was realized by Prasetiya Mulya University through the delivery of five best students from the School of STEM to take one semester online lectures at Woosong University, South Korea, through the IDEA Program an online-based credit exchange initiative for undergraduate students.

I Gede Hadrian Astrawinata, a 2024 Digital Business Technology student who took the User Experience class, was grateful to be given the opportunity to learn technology and web development from the user experience side through Prasmul's collaboration with Woosong University.

"The reason I chose the Digital Business Technology study program in Prasmul is to hone my business side. I not only want to be a graduate who is ready to work, but also create jobs. After graduating, my target is to become a technopreneur in the realm of Web3 and blockchain," he said, quoted Wednesday, October 8.

Meanwhile, Bernardus Patrick, an AI & Robotics student in the 2022 class who takes part in the Leadership class, added that it is not only a matter of science, the current soft skills are also an important assessment in the world of work, especially leadership.

"Therefore, I want to learn more about how to approach and understand other people's perspectives better," said Bernardus.

Faizah Sari, Ph.D., Cooperation Manager of Prasetiya Mulya University, emphasized that the IDEAl program with Woosong University is a form of Prasetiya Mulya's commitment to expand the global exposure of students, provide cross-cultural experiences, and improve their international competence and competitiveness.

"Therefore, the participants we chose were students with the best academic abilities in their fields. English mastery is also the main requirement, because all programs are implemented in English," he explained.

Through international collaborative steps like this, Prasetiya Mulya University not only provides students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills, but also opens their horizons to global challenges and opportunities. With the spirit of Excellence Meets Purpose, Prasmul emphasized his role as a university that gives birth to a superior, international competitive generation, as well as is committed to making a real impact on society and the world.
