Nahkoda Tells The Seconds Of The Ship Sinking In The Waters Of Bokor Island, Thousand Islands
Wahyudin, the captain of the fishing boat who sank due to being hit by waves in the waters around Bokor Island, Thousand Islands, Jakarta, said that the moments of the ship he was driving overturned and sank on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
"Initially while sailing, we were hit by bad weather. Then we docked (Tuesday morning). Around 3 o'clock in the morning, there was a big wave and the ship was tilted and overturned due to waves," Wahyudin said when remembering the unfortunate incident, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Then the crew tried to save themselves by trying to float and swim against the waves at the scene.
"(I see) the children are already above the hull," he said.
Then Wahyudin as the captain, Imron and July were separated because of the ferocity of the waves that hit the waters.
"The three of us were separated from the waves, at around 6 am the fishing fishermen were found. Then they were only able to spread it to land," said the captain of the ship.
Wahyudin said that there were 8 people in the ship he was headed for at the time of the incident.

"Seven people survived, one has not been found. Thank God all (7 people who were evacuated) are healthy. The remaining 1 person (still looking for)," he said.
Wahyudin confirmed that the cause of the capsized ship was due to high waves.
"The cause was reversed due to high waves. I saved myself using a fiber cap, from the distance of the ship that sank, it was far away," he said.
Then on Tuesday night, the four crew members were again found by fishing vessels passing through the waters.
Furthermore, the other four victims named Kartani (30), Wawan (40), Kacung (35) and Mamat (35) were evacuated by the joint SAR Team.
Meanwhile, a crew member named Udin until Wednesday night is still being searched.
Previously, it was reported that the joint SAR team managed to evacuate 4 fishermen who had previously drowned from a ship in the waters around Bokor Island, Thousand Islands, Jakarta. The four victims were successfully evacuated on Tuesday, October 7.
