Leapmotor Prepares B05 Ultra, High-Sex Electric Hatchback For Europe

JAKARTA The development of electric cars in recent years has been going on very rapidly in various countries. If previously the discussion only focused on travel distance and charging time, now attention is starting to shift to performance, as the Chinese brand, Leapmotor, shows in the European market.

Based on a report from Carnewschina, quoted on Wednesday, October 9, the company, which is supported by the giant Stellantis, will present a B05 Ultra electric hot hatch. Known as Lafa 5 Ultra in its domestic market, this model first appeared in its standard version at the Munich Motor Show 2025. Leapmotor B05 is a compact hatchback with a dynamic and modern look.

The Ultra variant comes with a complete aerodynamic package ranging from aggressive front splitters, large back spoilers, to shiny black accents that distinguish it from the standard model. The manufacturer insists that these elements are not only for style, but also function to improve driving stability. Both standard and Ultra versions use 19-inch alloy rims.

To make B05 Ultra truly of high performance character, Leapmotor collaborated with Stellantis as technical partner. The engineers from the European conglomerate were directly involved in the chassis tuning, resulting in a platform with a nearly perfect weight distribution of 50:50 the main key for agile and stable control at the corner.

Built on the LEAP 3.5 modular platform, the B05 Ultra interior is still kept secret. Full cabin disclosure is expected at the end of this year.

Senior Vice President of Leapmotor, Cao Li, confirmed that the B05 Ultra will use material suede extensively to create a sporty atmosphere and be performance-oriented in the cabin. The focus is on presenting a meaningful blend of designs with an ergonomic driver-centric, a philosophy that forms the basis for developing this model.

The most interesting, of course, lies on the performance side. The standard version of B05 for the European market will be equipped with a single motorbike with a power of between 177 hp to 215 hp, and an estimated distance of 400500 km. The B05 Ultra is said to be in a completely different performance class.
