Today, 16 Garuda Schools Are Introduced Simultaneously Throughout Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Garuda School Program will be introduced simultaneously at 16 points throughout Indonesia on Wednesday 8 October. Garuda School is one of President Prabowo Subianto's best results programs (PHTC) which aims to expand access to superior education in various regions.

Garuda School is a refinement of the education transformation orchestration," said Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Stella Christie, Tuesday, October 7.

Stella explained that the simultaneous introduction included 12 points of the Garuda Transformation School and four points for the construction of the Garuda Baru School. This program is part of President Prabowo's big vision to produce the 2045 Indonesian golden generation.

Through Garuda School, the government wants to produce a young generation that is intelligent, globally competitive, guided, service-hearted, and committed to serving in the progress of the nation.

"The existence of the Garuda School is important to strengthen efforts to improve the quality of Indonesia's human resources. The Human Capital Index shows that the average Indonesian student has only taken advantage of 54% of their full potential, so this is a challenge as well as a great opportunity to continue to improve," concluded Stella.

The 12 Garuda Transformation Schools include SMAN 10 Fajar Harapan (Aceh), SMA Unggul Del (Sumut), MAN Insan Cendekia Ogan Komering Ilir (Sumsel), SMAN Unggulan MH Thamrin (Jakarta), SMA Cahaya Rancamaya (Jabar), SMA Taruna Nusantara and SMA Pradita Dirgantara (Central Java), SMAN 10 Samarinda (Kaltim), SMAN Banua BBS (Kalsel), MAN Insan Cendekia Gorontalo (Gorontalo), SMAN Siwalima Ambon (Maluku), and SMA Averos Sorong (West Southwest Papua).

Meanwhile, four locations for the Garuda Baru School are in East Belitung, South Central Timor (NTT), South Konawe (Sultra), and Bulungan (Kaltara).

The government targets that by 2029, as many as 80 schools will be fostered into the Garuda Transformation School and 20 new schools will be built in various regions.
