Only Used For A Month, This Sophisticated Electric Car Was Devoured By The Red Jago

JAKARTA - An unusual sight appears in Dongbi Village, Ningde City, China's Fujian Province. An electric car was seen burning which caused seven cars around it, including Audi, BMW, Mazda, and Aion to be engulfed in flames.

Based on a report from Carnewschina, quoted on Tuesday, October 7, the car is known to be the Avatr 06 electric sedan from Changan. It is even known that the car was only purchased one month earlier.

The owner of Avatr 06 commented on the incident. He said that he bought this vehicle on August 28, 2025. After a month and a half, the distance it traveled only reached 1,066 km.

Based on his statement, the Avatr app showed that the temperature inside the car reached 76.4 degrees Celsius before the fire. Smoke first came out of the front passenger seat.

The owner of Avatr 06 said that the manufacturer had contacted him and would handle the matter appropriately. At the time of writing, Avatr, Changan, and CATL have not made any official announcements regarding the matter.

However, it appears that the owner of the burning car has placed many accessories on the center of the car console. A car blogger, Yu Dianke, assumed that the accessory might cause the light to be centered on the passenger seat, which resulted in a fire. Another possible cause of this fire was an perfume explosion.

As is known, Avatr 06 entered the Chinese automotive market on April 19, 2025. This incident was his first fire case. Keep in mind that the Avatr 06 electric sedan uses an LFP Shenxing battery made by CATL with a capacity of 72.88 kWh.

This car is equipped with a high voltage 800V system and more extended current protection. Avatr 06 EREV uses the Freevoy LFP battery with two variants of 31.7 kWh and 45.06 kWh capacities. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that the car battery caused the fire.
