Contract Expires, All GFRIEND Members Leave Source Music

JAKARTA - All members of the K-pop group GFRIEND did not renew their contract with Source Music.

Today, Tuesday, May 18, Source Music shared a statement that their exclusive contract will end on May 22.

"After careful discussion and consideration, GFRIEND and Source Music agreed to separate".

"For six years, GFRIEND won the love of K-pop fans through various concepts, performances, and songs that marked a new generation of girl groups and music".

Source Music thanks GFRIEND who started their career with them and also to fans, BUDDY who support the idol. They stated that they would continue to support the careers of each member of this group.

GFRIEND debuted in 2015 with the song Glass Bead. This group consists of Sowon, Umji, Yerin, SinB, Yuju, and Eunha. Since its debut, the group has always been attracting attention through its concept and appearance.

One of the important moments was when GFRIEND appeared to present Me Gustas Tu in the middle of a slippery stage. Some of the members were seen falling but got back up and dancing. Citizens are amazed by their professionalism.

In 2019, Source Music was acquired by Hybe Corporation (formerly Big Hit Entertainment). GFRIEND is a company with BTS, TXT, NU'EST, and others.

In October 2020, GFRIEND released their third album titled Walpurgis Night with the main song, Mago.
