Minister Of Manpower Surprised That The Productivity Of Indonesian Workers Is Low, Even Though In The 90s, It Was Still Membuahan

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli admitted that he was surprised about the low productivity of the workforce in Indonesia. In fact, according to him, the productivity of the Indonesian workforce is quite good in the range of the 90s.

In fact, Yassierli admitted, this made him major in industrial engineering during college.

"Why is it that Indonesia seems that the words productivity used to be warm in the early 80s to 90s, what became my attraction to studying in industrial engineering was its initial productivity. However, after I graduated at the end of the 90s, the words seemed lost," Yassierli said in the launch of the National Productivity Master Plan Document which was monitored online via Bappenas RI YouTube, Tuesday, October 7.

In fact, said Yassierli, neighboring countries in Southeast Asia (ASEAN) continue to maintain consistency related to this productivity.

"It turns out, from other APO countries (Asian Productivity Organization) they are still consistent. From Vietnam, we see Thailand, Malaysia, Japan. We tend to show, I also don't understand," he said.

For this reason, the Ministry of Manpower has prepared a number of initiatives to increase national productivity. Based on the presentations displayed, these initiatives include preparing an ecosystem.

The ecosystem preparation consists of international networks through the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Indonesia Productivity Summit, production centers at universities and productivity awards at the national level.

The second initiative is resource preparation. Among other things, the preparation of APO certified productivity specialists; the preparation of SKKNI and KKNI productivity; training for productivity and productive human resources is certified by SKKNI; talent & innovation hub; project based learning; as well as training programs and other competencies improvements.

The last initiative is an intervention to increase productivity. According to Yassierli, his party will begin to intervene with productivity experts to be able to make changes in various companies next year.

"The same steps are actually taken by all countries. Whether it's Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, China, how we intervene companies focus on industries that we really want to boost productivity," he explained.

"My language of productivity is mindset, productivity is culture, productivity is practice. In terms of calculations, the mathematical formula does exist, but essentially it is. We want to build a productive Indonesia, meaning we also have to pay attention to the person," concluded Yassierli.
