President Trump Wants To Know Ukraine's Plans On Tomahawk Missiles

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump said on Monday he wanted to know what Ukraine plans to do with the US-made Tomahawk missile before agreeing to supply it because it did not want to escalate Russia's war escalation against Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has asked Washington to sell Tomahawk to European countries that will send it to Ukraine.

The Tomahawk missile has a range of 2,500 km (1,550 miles), which puts Moscow within reach of Ukraine's arsenal, if Kyiv is granted.

When asked by reporters at the White House whether he had decided to supply the Tomahawk missile to Ukraine, President Trump did not rule out the possibility and said he had "made a decision" regarding it.

"I think I want to know what they did with those missiles," he said.

"Where will they send it? I think I should ask that," he said.

"I'll ask you a few questions. I don't mean to cloud the war," said President Trump.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video clip released on Sunday that if Washington supplies the Tomahawk missile to Ukraine for long-range attacks on Russia, it would lead to the destruction of Moscow's relations with Washington.
