Danamon, Manulife Indonesia And Prasetiya Mulya University Collaborate To Present Prasmul EduWealth

JAKARTA - According to data from the Central Statistics Agency, annual inflation for the education category in August 2024 "periods that coincide with new student admissions" reached 1.83 percent. This figure is higher than general annual inflation in 2024, which was 1.57 percent. During the 2015 to 2024 period, annual inflation costs education several times beyond annual general inflation.

Meanwhile, the BPS survey in 2021 shows that households in urban areas allocate an average of 11-15 percent of their total monthly spending on education, which shows significant financial burdens for families. On the other hand, the World Bank's report The Promise of Education emphasizes that quality education is the main foundation for building competitive human resources.

This condition confirms that increasing the cost of education is a consistent trend as well as showing the urgency of mature and sustainable education financial planning. High quality education is a determining factor in building superior human resources in the future. Therefore, the right financial planning strategy is important so that access to quality education remains guaranteed for all people.

As a form of commitment to support the community in managing education finances, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon), together with PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia (Manulife Indonesia), and Prasetiya Mulya University (Prasmul) collaborated and will present Prasmul EduWealth Premium Education Saving Plan, an innovation in saving education plans that integrates savings, protection of life insurance and ecosystems for fostering students from an early age.

This collaboration was inaugurated with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the three entities represented by Honggo Widjojo Kangmasto, Deputy President Director of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk; Lauren Sulistiawati, President Director of Manulife Indonesia and Dr. Hassan Wirajuda, Chancellor of Prasetiya Mulya University, and witnessed by management representatives from Danamon, Manulife Indonesia and Prasmul. This collaboration unites Danamon's strength with local and global networks from the parent company, members of the company group and its strategic partners; Manulife Indonesia as a provider of reliable mental protection solutions; and Prasmul as a leading educational institution that focuses on business development, technology and entrepreneurship. With this program, parents not only get quality education certainty but also a holistic child development ecosystem to prepare future leaders.

By combining students' financial strength, protection, and coaching from an early age, this program not only provides peace for the elderly, but also opens the way for the younger generation of Indonesia to grow up as future leaders who are superior and globally competitive.
