The IDR 7 Million Electric Motor Incentive Program Continues? This Is What The Ministry Of Industry Says

JAKARTA - The continuation of the electric motorcycle subsidy program in 2025 still has not found a bright spot. The reason is, the government has not yet announced how many incentives will be provided.

In fact, the government targets the program to be launched in August 2025.

However, with 2025 remaining only a few months, there is no certainty regarding the program. When asked about this, the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Setia Diarta did not comment much.

The man who is familiarly called Tata only answered that his party was still discussing and proposing the program. To note, the program first launched in the year with a subsidy of Rp. 7 million.

"Still in talks, it is being proposed," Tata said when met at the Coordinating Ministry for GPK office, Jakarta, Monday, October 6.

When asked further regarding the proposed electric motorcycle subsidy to be delegated next year, Tata only answered briefly. According to him, this might be done.

"Maybe," said Tata briefly without providing further information.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza said that incentives for electric motorcycles should have been issued by 2025. However, he has not detailed the form or time of implementing the policy.

"This year should be issued (electric motor incentives)," said Faisol.

As for early October 2025, President Prabowo Subianto and his ministers have not yet decided on the continuation of the electric vehicle incentives.
