Liverpool Lost Three Times In A Row With A Thin Margin, Arne Slot's Worst Record At Anfield

JAKARTA - Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, said he believed the thin margin cost his team a 1-2 defeat at the last minute from Chelsea. He acknowledged his team's decision-making needed to be improved.

Substitute, Estevoo, scored a winning goal for the hosts in the 95th minute at Stamford Bridge after previously scored goals by Moises Caicedo and Cody Gakpo on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

This marks the first time Liverpool have lost three consecutive times during Arne Slot's tenure, after losing to Crystal Palace and Galatasaray (League Champions).

"Last season we also lost against Chelsea. Stamford Bridge is always difficult. We almost got results. The margin is thin."

"As I said after fighting Galatasaray, we played one on one, then they got a penalty."

"We conceded in injury time against Crystal Palace. Then against Chelsea, they scored in extra time."

"After the score 1-1, everything went according to our wishes and I'm waiting for us to score a second goal."

"Decisions should have been better, the last 10-15 minutes were fierce. We entered their penalty box with (Andy) Robertson, we couldn't control the ball, but again, the score was thin, as has been the case while I'm here."

"Last week, just like this week, two tough away games, a thin score didn't benefit us," said Arne Slot.

After conceding in the 97th minute against Crystal Palace, Liverpool became the fifth team in Premier League history to lose several games due to goals scored in the 90th minute or more in the seven-day span.

Meanwhile, Liverpool, who are down to second place in the Premier League standings, are also facing a tense wait over defender Ibrahima Konate's fitness, who was replaced in the second half.

"I don't know if it's a serious injury, but what I know is that he's a little limp. When I asked him, he said he felt a little pain in his thigh."

"Then, for me, all the alarms sound because in the next sprint, we never know if it will go well."

"It's also a change that I had planned, maybe for a few minutes or moments later, because right-back centre-backs have a lot of possession. We need to create chances from that position. We all know Ryan (Gravenberch) is pretty good at that."

"Maybe it doesn't matter if he comes out early, but obviously I have to pull him out because he's limping," said Arne Slot again.
