Lola Young Sues Producer For Claims Of Messy's Song Credit
JAKARTA - A young British singer, Lola Young, has launched legal steps against one of the producers working on her hit song, Messy, regarding a dispute over songwriting credits.
This step was taken shortly after the 24-year-old singer decided to take a break and cancel the entire schedule for his show.
Meanwhile, Young's lawsuit was filed with the intellectual property court (intellectic property court) addressed to Carter Lang.
Young's attorneys stated they had no choice but to take legal action after Lang claimed to have written credit on Young's four songs.
"With deep disappointment, especially given the recent events, we have no choice but to respond to Carter Lang's claim of songwriting credit on four Lola Young songs by filing a legal process in her name," said Lola Young's attorney, quoted by the BBC, Sunday, October 5.

"We strongly deny Carter's claim, and we will not allow Lola's reputation and integrity to be doubtful because this claim comes so long after the recording session takes place and the agreement has been agreed," he added.
Until this news was published, the producer and songwriter from the United States had not yet provided an official response.
Not only Carter Lang, this lawsuit also dragged Sony Music Publishing.
Furthermore, Young's representative said, the artist has always been authentic in the process of writing his song and admitted the contribution of songwriting appropriately.
It was also stated that this dispute had been going on for several months. "We hope the truth can be upheld," concluded Young's representative.
