President Orders Ministers And Governors To Pay Attention To Islamic Boarding Schools In The Aftermath Of Al Khoziny Sidoarjo Islamic Boarding School

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi said that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto continues to monitor the development of the search for victims at the Al-Khoziny Islamic Boarding School, Sidoarjo, which collapsed on Monday, September 29.

The President, said Prasetyo, had ordered the relevant ministers and governors to pay attention to Islamic boarding schools in the country following the heartbreaking tragedy at the East Java Islamic Boarding School.

"It's been done, he (President Prabowo) continues to monitor it. That's why he then ordered the relevant ministers and governors and deputy governors to pay attention," said Prasetyo at Monas, Jakarta, Sunday, October 5.

Prasetyo hopes that the relevant ministers and local governments will record all Islamic boarding schools that are currently under construction. He also hopes that this incident will be an evaluation for all parties so that similar incidents do not happen again.

"In the future, we hope that the future evaluation of all Islamic boarding schools will be recorded immediately and ensured security in terms of the respective cottage infrastructure buildings," said Prasetyo.

It is known, the tragedy of the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building in Buduran, Sidoarjo, continues to swallow victims. To date, the number of victims who died has increased to 37 people, after the Joint SAR Team found 11 additional bodies during the early morning search operation.

As of Sunday morning, the number of victims who were found reached 141 people, consisting of 104 survivors, 37 deaths, and one victim in the form of body parts. However, there are still around 26 people who have not been found.

As reported, the three-story building including the prayer room in the men's dormitory of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School collapsed on Monday, September 29, afternoon. At that time, hundreds of students and worshipers were carrying out the Ashar prayer in the building which was still under construction.
