Sales Of Skyrocketing Cars, Chery Group Soon To Build Independent Factory In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Automotive company Chery Group, which houses brands such as Omoda, Jaecool, to Lepas, plans to build an independent factory in Indonesia. This plan arises because production facilities that are currently still riding are no longer adequate to support high market demand.
Currently, the Chery Group still relies on the production facilities of PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) in Bekasi and its new factory in Purwakarta. However, with many new models to be introduced, including two Jaecoo (J7 and J8) models, the need for the factory itself becomes urgent.
Jaecool Indonesia's Country Director, Max Zhou, confirmed that the realization of self-factories is in line with the significant increase in consumer demand for Chery products.
I think we just need to look at the data. So first, the combination between Chery and Jaecoo, our sales have been more than 2,000 units per month in Indonesia," said Max, when met in the Tangerang area, recently.
Max projects that this year's Chery Group sales target will reach more than 3,000 units per month. This spike in figures forced companies to immediately have their own production facilities.
"We have to commit to the Indonesian market. If we still use Handal facilities, we will experience difficulties and not enough to meet market needs," he said.

In line with Max Zhou, Jaecool Indonesia's Head of Marketing, Ilham Pratama, added that the factory's development plan was also driven by the increasing number of product lines to be launched, both from Chery, Jaecoo, and Release.
According to Ilham, without an independent factory, the production chain will be disrupted.
"If we don't have our own factory, it means it will have an impact on the production chain, so we have prepared it. But for the location and when we haven't been able to announce it yet, "explained Ilham, reluctant to divulge further details.
Although the plan to allocate an independent factory is certain, both the location and the construction schedule are still a secret for the Chery Group.
