Interior Furniture And Design, From Basic Needs To Become Modern Lifestyle Identity
JAKARTA - The development of modern lifestyle trends cannot be separated from the world of furniture, interior design and supporting technology. Urbanization is increasingly driving the need for functional, aesthetic and sustainable living spaces.
Not surprisingly, the furniture and design industry is now not just a basic need, but also part of the lifestyle identity of urban communities.
The strength of this sector was clearly seen when Jakarta hosted an integrated industrial event on September 24, 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran. The event succeeded in presenting 482 participants from 49 countries and attracted the attention of 13,689 business visitors.
From wood processing technology, production machines, hardware, to the latest interior design trends, all met on one platform.
"This debut is a strong starting point for the development of long-term platforms in Southeast Asia. With the support of exhibitors, partners and visitors, we are optimistic that Jakarta will strengthen its position as a center of innovation, sustainability, and business opportunities," said Kuepper Mathias, Managing Director & Vice President of Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd from the official IFMAC & WOODMAC statement.
Not only business matters, this event also opens a creative discussion room through RE:Create Stage which discusses the latest issues such as environmentally friendly materials, multifunctional designs to alternative material ecosystems.
One of the sessions that caught attention was a presentation from the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII) entitled 'Designing Multifunctional Furniture: Challenges and Solutions.' For practitioners, this program feels very relevant.
"The topic discussed provides me with practical insight that can be directly applied in projects. This program is a meaningful complement to the entire exhibition," said Dianasari Village, Ambassador to the Asia-Pacific Space Designers' Association (APSDA).

With such high enthusiasm, a similar event will be held again on September 23, 2026. Jakarta has also further confirmed itself not only as a center for business meetings, but also as a modern lifestyle stage where the design, innovation, and sustainability combined to shape the face of the industry of the future.
