Danantara Boss: Patriot Bond Funds Will Be Used For Waste To Energy Programs
JAKARTA - The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) revealed that the issuance of Patriot Bond worth IDR 50 trillion has been fully subscribed or sold out.
Danantara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani explained that the funds raised will later be allocated to fund the Waste to Energy (WTE) program or waste processing into energy.
"As for Patriot Bond, right, thank God it is in accordance with the target of IDR 50 trillion, it is fully subscribed, yes," said Rosan when met at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 1.
According to Rosan, the achievement of the Patriot Bond's sales target is in line with the launch of the waste to energy program at the end of October 2025.
"The funds will be used for our program of waste to energy. It is indeed inline, so the funds are also ready, it has been settled, entered, then we launched waste to energy," he said.
Later, the tender process for the project to process waste into energy will begin immediately by involving the private sector and local government.
"Hopefully by the end of October we will start the process for the tender to waste to energy. But for Patriot Bond it is finished, yes," explained Rosan.
To note, Patriot Bond is the first debt letter issued by Danantara and consists of two series, namely a tenor of five years and seven years. Danantara invites big business actors to buy Patriot Bond and support national development financing.
Patriot Bond is included in a major strategy to support long-term strategic project financing. The project includes energy transition, waste management and job creation in high-value waste sectors.
The strategic financing instruments such as Patriot Bond are commonly used in various countries, such as Japan and the United States (US) to strengthen the independence of national funding.

Previously, a set of documents circulated regarding 46 lists of Indonesian conglomerates as investors from Patriot Bond issued by Danantara. From these documents, IDR 51.75 trillion was raised as of September 2025.
In the document, the names of Anthony Salim, Prajogo Pangestu, Sugianto Kusuma, Franky Widjaja, Boy Thohir and Edwin Soeryadjaya, Budi Hartono and Low Tuck Kwong became the top positions by buying patriot bonds worth IDR 3 trillion.
The rest, there are the names James Riady, Hilmi Panigoro, Gunawan Lim and Eddy Sariaatmadja by buying patriot bonds worth IDR 1.5 trillion each.
