Yaqut Cholil Qoumas Reminds Ministry Of Religion Employees Not To Corruption In Today's Memory, October 1, 2021

JAKARTA Memories of today, four years ago, October 1, 2021, the Minister of Religion (Menag), Yaqut Cholil Qoumas inaugurated 10 echelon I officials. Yaqut did not forget to remind his staff not to be corrupt and to avoid singing positions.

Previously, the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) government considered Yaqut qualified as Minister of Religion. Jokowi believes that Yaqut is able to maintain harmony between religious communities. Yaqut then got a mandate to take care of all religions, not only Islam.

Yaqut is not new to the national political map. He became the figure of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) who led GP Ansor from the 2015-2020 era. Yaqut actively played his role as supervisor of government policies in the field of religion.

All kinds of government movements that harm religious togetherness have been criticized. Moreover, the Ministry of Religion is trying to propose strange policies such as prohibiting lidar and gungkrang pants.

President Jokowi began to look at Yaqut's active role. Later, Jokowi appointed Yaqut as Minister of Religion for the 2020-2024 era. Jokowi believes Yaqut can present harmony between religious communities.

He is also believed to be able to bring the implementation of the pilgrimage to be better. Yaqut is believed by Jokowi to be an anti-corruption figure. The reform of the Ministry of Religion is in his hands. The challenge is trying to be answered by Yaqut. He moves to forbid the sale and purchase of positions within the Ministry of Religion.

He also promised to fully supervise his subordinates working. Yaqut did not want to make his own breakthroughs. He collaborated with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to support him. All of this was done by Yaqut in order to create a clean Ministry of Religion.

"Transactionally, we strictly prohibit the sale and purchase of this position at the Ministry of Religion. For example, people move because they bribe the leadership. And we will monitor this properly down to a strict extent."

"We have implemented policies in the ranks of echelon I units in the process of rotation and mutation so that there is no transactional position. We really hope for support and supervision from the KPK," Yaqut said as quoted by the Ministry of Religion website, March 3, 2021.

Yaqut's commitment to corruption has not been made once or twice. This commitment was also played when Yaqut inaugurated 10 echelon 1 officials of the Ministry of Religion at the Ministry of Religion Office on October 1, 2021. Yaqut specifically advised his staff not to be corrupt and use their positions.

He wants the name of the Ministry of Religion to be fragrant. His officials must be known to have the value of dedication and honesty. He asked echelon 1 officials who had just been good at fortifying themselves from wanting corruption. A useful thing in the future. Even though Yaqut was later caught in the alleged hajj corruption after completing his tenure as Ministry of Religion.

"Every Ministry of Religion official must be able to act as a bridge for the ummah, ulama and umaro. Therefore, do and do the best for the people, nation and state. Avoid corruption, abuse of office, and the use of state facilities beyond their rights. Starting from small things as a bulwark, to avoid bigger things.
