JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is included in the ranks of the Council of Administration (CA) and the Postal Operations Council (POC) Universal Postal Union (UPU) for the period 2025'2029.
With the entry of Komdigi to CA and POCUPU, the government affirms its commitment to accelerating the modernization of national postal services, paving the way for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to the global market, and ensuring that Indonesia's logistics ecosystem is ready to compete in the digital era.
Director General of Digital Ecosystems of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, emphasized that world trust is an important momentum for Indonesia to accelerate digital transformation in the postal and logistics sectors.
"Indonesia's membership in CA and POCUPU confirms our strategic position in determining the future of world postal and logistical services," said Edwin in his official broadcast on Tuesday, September 30.
According to him, this is more than just a diplomatic achievement, but an opportunity to bring national interests to the global stage while at the same time fighting for the creation of a more equitable, inclusive, and relevant postal ecosystem in the digital era.
Indonesia's membership in the two important UPU councils is a turning point for the transformation of national postal services. Digitalization, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to integration with the e-commerce ecosystem will be further strengthened.
He also emphasized that Indonesia's participation in the UPU will provide tangible benefits, ranging from improving the quality of international shipping services, strengthening postal financial services to building logistics systems to encourage digital economic growth.
