Arrest A DPO Case 17 Theft Of Violence In Jayawijaya, Police Chase Other Perpetrators
JAKARTA - The Jayawijaya Resort Police (Polres) in Papua Mountains has arrested a wanted list of people or DPOs for 17 cases of theft and violence or theft in the local area.
The Jayawijaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) managed to secure a perpetrator who was included in the DPO of a criminal case with the initials BK.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Sugarda AB Trenggoro said the arrests were made after the team carried out patrol and monitoring activities to anticipate the rise of cases of robbery in Wamena City.
"Initially the team pursued one of the other DPOs, but managed to secure the BK which was also the main target. The arrests were made by the Opsnal Team and Timsus in the Honailama area, Wamena," he said in a written statement in Wamena, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to him, BK is one of the perpetrators of the theft who has been the DPO of the Jayawijaya Police.
"From the results of the interrogation, the person concerned was involved in 17 police reports of curas cases from January to September 2025," he said.

He explained that a number of evidences were taken in the perpetrators' actions, including motorbikes, cell phones, cash and valuables belonging to the victim.
"The perpetrators' actions were carried out in various locations in Wamena City such as Jalan Trikora, Elagaima, Jalan Thamrin, Jalan Sudirman, Tanah Longsor, Sinakma, to Jalan Bhayangkara in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency," he said.
He added that in carrying out the action, BK was not alone, but also with several other actors who are still being chased, including the initials DH, SH, HE, KH, and a number of other names.
"We will continue to develop fellow perpetrators who are currently at large, as well as trace the existence of evidence of the proceeds of crime," he said.
He is committed to eradicating criminal acts that are troubling the community and taking decisive and measured actions, especially robbery or theft in the jurisdiction of the Jayawijaya Police.
"We are fully committed and will try our best in disclosing the perpetrators of crimes. There is no safe place for the perpetrators of robbery and theft in the jurisdiction of the Jayawijaya Police, we ensure that the law is enforced and public safety is a top priority," he said.
